Anyone inspecting with the telescope would find that e.g. Aries could not possibly rise in due east at this epoch. This leaves us with a question: "Where are the ascendants?" The answer seems obvious: right on the eastern horizon at birth. But where exactly do we find the eastern ascendant in the horoscope as well as real sky? Due east is a cardinal point often marked with an "E". The ascendant is a point at the eastern horizon. More precisely the ascendant is the eastern intersection of the horizon with the equator. Eastern Ascendant Factography The eastern ascendant can be defined in several ways. * Eastern star. The star rising in due east can be thought of as guardian angel. * Eastern IAU constellation. There are presently 16 rising constellations. * Precessed ascendant. This definition stresses the change in number and quality of the eastern constellations according to epoch and precession. * Variable ascendant. The ecliptic ascendant is fairly uniform but the due eastern ascendant varies according to epoch. The same set of ascendants is not at all valid in every epoch. Our current epoch has a modest set made of only 16 ascendants. * The eastern ascendant is the intersection of the horizon with the equator. Why don't we follow the omens as portended by the ecliptic ascendant? Quite simply because the ecliptic ascendant does not point at the east at all. We had to introduce the term "ecliptic ascendant" when we analyzed the horoscope of the U.S.A. in order to differentiate eastern ascendant with other ascendants such as the galactic, ecliptic, magnetic and so on. We have found the eastern ascendant for the U.S.A. is Serpens but the ecliptic ascendant is Ophiuchus. Results may vary for the U.S.A. with general variance from Aquila to Ophiuchus in the case of the eastern ascendant. Thus the U.S.A. most probably has Serpens Cauda ascending and but in settling for a reasonable tolerance the U.S.A. could have Aquila or Ophiuchus ascending at due east according to the timing given by selected authorities. About the Zodiac and Ascendant The zodiacal constellations have nothing to do with the ascendental constellations for the epoch. The zodiacal constellations are fixed in number and quality while the ascendant set is liable to change due to precession. A Short History of the Eastern Ascendant In the course of our zodiacal reformation it became evident that if we want to keep to our own standards we have to include the reformation of the ascendant in our research. The matter of selecting sets of ascending constellations for different epochs proved interesting above all expectation. Our publications soon included not only sets of ascendant for remote epochs but also sets of meridian constellations for Our policy is extremely simple since we let "God and NASA" take care of the position of the planets. We don't intervene with "astrology", that is distortion. The sky is left just where it is and like you would observe it with naked eye or telescope. We don't invent constellations that are not there. As a matter of fact we keep to the universally accepted IAU convention. It may look shocking to look at things as they really are after perhaps 2000 years of poor update. Astronomers did much the same as they updated the sky for precession. Astronomy is a reliable science that manages to face a real sky with competence. We never had any objection to astronomy as we progressed in our research. Where is the Ascendant? One could rightfully ask where one's own ascendant might really be? It is not there! It surely isn't there. It simply isn't there at all. It never was there at all. Only five out of sixteen ascendants vaguely recall generally known ascending constellations. We are late for the update as perhaps 2000 years of darkness passed us by. We are sorry to delude the general public but you won't find the astrologic output in the real sky as every astrologer can check for himself by simply leaning through the window. A lady complained about people bugging her on account of her "Capricorn ascendant". It was a matter of seconds to change her worried face into surprised countenance Truth could do wonders as opposed to misinterpretation. Why go around with a false identity? The ascendant was not at all "Capricorn"; it was Pisces. Now that's a great leap in karmic progress indeed. The lady's Sun in Virgo was misinterpreted by the "astrological program" as "Sun in Scorpio". The Sun is clearly settled on a Virgo star. Checking by stars could help as first aid in dubious cases. One of the difficult cases was that of Sai Baba who was decided "Libran" albeit born as late as November 23rd. Namely the Sun is still in Libra on November 23rd. If that does not offer reason for contempt... All this facts are purely scientific and can be checked with NASA ephemeris as downloadable from the site. As aforesaid we did not invent astronomy but we surely did much in dispelling lethal superstition all over the planet. Superstition is opposed to genuine magick, astrology and religion. The History of the Zodiac The new transneptunian discoveries had a start in the year 1992 when the first cubewano object was found. New classes of objects emerged that were completely unknown to astrologers at the time. We had to load the new discoveries into any astronomic program to keep the update as there were no astrological programs that would track scores of centaurs, cubewano, plutino or scattered objects. A new house system was developed to help defining the proper house for the scattered objects.
